(WFSB) – A Massachusetts man was connected to the death of a man in Deep River before he went on a stabbing spree in Massachusetts.
Troopers identified the suspect as 26-year-old Jared Ravizza.
The Channel 3 I-Team did some digging into Ravizza’s background.
Jared Ravizza was a self-proclaimed artist who claimed to run a global digital marketing and social media management agency called “Ravizza Jones.” He has over 218,000 followers on Instagram.
According to police, he posted four photos on the platform just hours before he killed 70-year-old Bruce Feldman, with whom he was renting an Airbnb, in Deep River.
The I-Team has obtained records that show Ravizza has legally changed his name twice. The first time was in 2023 when he added Jones to his last name and in April he dropped the name Ravizza and went by “Jared Love Jones.”
He said in court documents that he was honoring his beloved grandmother, Priscilla Jones.
He was also a professional skier before everything fell apart, according to a report from Martha’s Vineyard, where he spent most of his life.
In April, Ravizza was arrested after police said he attacked his father at their home in West Tisbury, MA.
According to Ravizza’s father, Jason, his son “had a mental problem.”
When police tried to speak to Ravizza about the incident they said:
“Mr. Ravizza started talking to us about nonsense like the Deep State and claimed that his family helped start the country with John Adams, but his father didn’t love him and his father wanted him dead.”
He further said that he “began shouting that he wanted his father to die and started foaming at the mouth as he spoke.”
Her father refused to seek a protection order, the report said. Ravizza was taken to a hospital for a mental health evaluation.
The hospital said he didn’t meet its standards, so he was released.
Originally, Ravizza was to be sent to a pre-trial diversion program and not be formally charged.
The court clerk there told Channel 3 on Tuesday that the district attorney will now charge Ravizza and he will appear in court later.
Eyewitness News tried to contact family members but received no response.
