Taylor Swift reacted on Sunday to the news that her latest album, Tortured Poets Departmentis just as big as its fans had anticipated.
According to BoardAfter the album reached the top spot on the Billboard 200 albums chart (dated May 4), Swift is now at number 14, tied with Jay-Z for most number 1 records for a solo artist. He is beaten only by The Beatles, who have 19.
Tortured Poets Department It also marked the highest number of streams in a week for an album – at least since 2014, when Billboard began measuring units. The publication described the debut as “huge”, including the “staggering” number of total vinyl sales of 859,000.
Shortly after the news, Swift said her “mind is blown” and “I’m completely blown away by all the love you’ve shown this album.”
“What do you mean,” Swift initially posted in response to a Board Post announcing your accomplishments xFormerly Twitter.
The singer then said she was “completely overwhelmed” by the figures, which included 2.61 million equivalent album units sold in the US alone in the week ending April 25.
Stunned Swift wrote: “Are you really serious?”
Adding some behind-the-scenes photos of the album process, including photos with Post Malone and Florence Welch, Swift concluded with a promise that she was ready to return to work after a two-month break.
