Here’s what happened with Rod Wave in Florida
On Wednesday, April 3, shadow room Florida booking records obtained show Rod Wave is in police custody. Of note, the rapper’s official name, Rodarius Green, is listed on the booking records.
Additionally, it shows the 25-year-old man is being charged with possession of ammunition by a convicted felon.
Additionally, records state that Rod Wave was arrested on April 3.
According to Rap-Up, the rapper was captured in Pinellas County, Florida after allegedly fleeing from police.
Additionally, on Wednesday afternoon the singer’s attorneys Bradford Cohen and Mark Rankin shared an exclusive statement with TMZ. The lawyers made it clear that Wave is not a convicted criminal.
“The officers who made the arrest are wrong. He is not a convicted felon and has never been a convicted felon. We hope he would have done additional research before filing these charges,” the statement said. “As in any case we will hold the parties who made the error accountable for their actions.”
Wave has reportedly been released from jail “on his own recognizance,” the outlet said. However, records still show that he is in custody.

More details regarding the singer’s past legal issues
According to Billboard, in May 2022, Rod Wave was arrested in St. Petersburg, Florida in connection with an incident that reportedly occurred a month earlier. The outlet reports that Wave was accused of breaking into his girlfriend’s home and strangling her on April 24, 2022.
The singer was reportedly booked into the Pinellas County Jail.
However, the singer’s attorney, Bradford M. Cohen, reportedly called the incident a “misunderstanding.” Furthermore, the charges against the singer were eventually dropped.
“That misunderstanding resulted in the arrest of Mr. Green,” Cohen told Pitchfork via email. “After reviewing the evidence and speaking to witnesses, the state filed Nole Pros/No Info on the case and charges will not be pursued.”
