PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — President Joe Biden traveled to Pennsylvania on Monday to volunteer with Philabundance in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
Biden’s visit to MLK marks the third time in four years the president has spent the day giving back to Philabundance and the fourth time the president has visited the Keystone State since December 2023.
The president volunteered with Philadelphia Mayor Cheryl Parker on Monday morning to help prepare food boxes for those in need in the area.
Biden has been to Pennsylvania twice already this month, most recently traveling to Allentown on Jan. 12 Visit Local Small Businesses And talk about his economic record, and come back on January 5 spoken in montgomery county To mark the three-year anniversary of the January 6 Capitol riot.
In December, Biden visited Philadelphia Announce $22.4 million grant This will allow three fire companies in the city to reopen.
Due to Philabundance’s proximity to the South Philadelphia Sports Complex, the road was closed around 11:30 a.m. and 12 p.m. Monday. Fans heading to the Wells Fargo Center for the Sixers game at 1 p.m. were encouraged to arrive early to avoid traffic disruptions.
