Singer and actor Justin Timberlake has been arrested for driving under the influence in the Hamptons.
The Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office confirmed to NPR that Timberlake was arrested in Sag Harbor on Tuesday and arraigned in Sag Harbor Village Justice Court that morning.
Sag Harbor is one of the beach communities on the eastern end of Long Island, and is a popular summer destination for wealthy New Yorkers.
NPR has contacted representatives for Timberlake for comment.
The Sag Harbor Police Department said in a statement Tuesday afternoon that an officer stopped Timberlake in a 2025 BMW just after 12:30 a.m. local time after he was found driving through a stop sign without stopping and “failing to maintain his lane of travel.”
“Following an investigation, it was determined that Mr. Timberlake was operating his vehicle while impaired,” he said.
Timberlake was held in custody overnight and released after an arraignment at 9:30 a.m.
The 43-year-old singer has been on the North American leg of his “Forget Tomorrow” world tour for nearly two months. He’s promoting his sixth studio album — and first in six years — Everything that I thought, Released in March.
Timberlake recently took the stage in Miami on Saturday. He is scheduled to perform at Chicago’s United Center on Friday and Saturday and at Madison Square Garden in New York City next week.
