Jared Ravizza, 26, of Chilmark, appeared in court Tuesday on charges of stabbing six people at two locations on Saturday. He is also connected to a murder investigation in Connecticut.
Ravizza was convicted in Plymouth District Court of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, assault with intent to murder and two counts of indecent exposure. Ravizza was taken into custody after fleeing officers and crashing his car in Sandwich. All the victims attacked in Plymouth and Braintree are in stable condition.
When Ravizza was asked about the events that led to his arrest and hospitalization, he told a nurse that he “wanted to have fun” Saturday night, according to a police report filed by state police troopers, who also questioned witnesses and reviewed surveillance footage.

Connecticut Murders
Connecticut State Police said in a release that just after 3:30 p.m. Saturday, police responded to a home on Merivold Lane in the town of Deep River. Troopers were told a suspect threw a shovel through the home’s front door window. Witnesses said they recognized the suspect and that he lived nearby on Merritone Lane. An “audible disturbance” was heard before the shovel was thrown through the window.
Police then went to 15 Merritone Lane, where they found a man outside with visible injuries. He was pronounced dead at the scene. He was later identified as 70-year-old Bruce Feldman of West Hartford, Connecticut.
Ravizza was identified as a suspect based on interviews with witnesses and personal belongings found at the crime scene. Police said the investigation is ongoing and criminal charges are pending.
Several new details emerged in a police report filed Tuesday in Plymouth District Court, including confirmation that Ravizza is connected to the Deep River murders.
Around 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Connecticut State Police asked troopers in Massachusetts to check Ravizza’s home. The owner and operator of a 2018 black Porsche Macan was considered a suspect after police found Feldman’s body. The Macan was found to be registered in Ravizza’s name, according to the report.
Stabbing in the theatre
As told by Lisa Dembowski The Boston Globe Her three daughters and a friend were injured in a stabbing incident at AMC. The four girls were in the theater alone to see the new movie “If.”
At around 6 p.m., a man approached them from behind with a knife and attacked them. No warning was given, but the attacker reportedly laughed while attacking. Two older girls chased the attacker away. According to the report, the girls suffered injuries that were not life-threatening. Globe,
“I think they’re scared that they could go to a movie on a Saturday night, and this could happen — somebody could go into a movie theater and do this,” Dembowski said. Globe,
Braintree police said the attack appeared to be unprovoked and related to the stabbing at McDonald’s.
Attack on McDonald’s
The investigation into the McDonald’s attack began around 7:45 p.m., when state police troopers were briefed on the situation at hand. Two employees were stabbed, including a 21-year-old woman who was finishing her first day on the job. When troopers arrived at the break, employees had already cleaned the floor, but “reddish-brown substance” was still found on the wall near the drive-thru window and other areas.
According to the state police report, the first person attacked at McDonald’s was a 28-year-old man working the drive-thru window. He told police that a man matching Ravizza’s description ordered two double cheeseburgers, a small order of fries, and a McFlurry. At the window, the man asked for a fork and knife, and became flustered when he asked the employee to check the bag to make sure the order was correct. The employee said he emptied the bag and refilled it to show Ravizza that everything was there.
But Ravizza allegedly got out of his car and stabbed the employee in the arm. According to the report, they estimated that Ravizza was holding a kitchen knife about 8 inches long. The knife had a cable attached to the end.
One witness told police he heard movement at the drive-thru window before seeing the Porsche drive toward the building’s entrance. Ravizza was wearing a dark jacket without a shirt and entered. Another witness reported seeing him waving a knife around.
The female victim was only in the U.S. for a few days at the time of the attack, and had her first shift at McDonald’s on Saturday. According to the report, she saw Ravizza enter the building holding a knife above his head. She was working at a cash register, and Ravizza allegedly went behind the counter to attack her. She was stabbed three times and required a total of seven stitches. According to the report, she managed to escape to a safe room behind the restaurant to wait for police, while Ravizza fled.
A witness told police how she followed Ravizza to his car after the second stabbing. As she did so, he “turned around and smiled and made a hand gesture at her,” according to the report. She said nothing.
Before the attack at McDonald’s, another witness reportedly had a disturbing encounter with Ravizza at a rest area. While driving to the drive-thru area to place an order, she noticed a Porsche stopped and a man matching Ravizza’s description openly urinating outside of it. According to the report, she pointed to him and Ravizza gave her a look “similar to Jack Nicholson’s expression in ‘The Shining.'” Ravizza then got back in the Porsche, walked over, got out and finished urinating. He showed the witness the middle finger and got back in the Porsche again.
After the stabbing, witnesses gave police information that led to a high-speed pursuit. Ravizza was arrested after the Porsche crashed near Cotuit Road in Sandwich. He was treated for minor abrasions at a local hospital and had four Taser probes removed. He told a doctor that police were pursuing him when he lost control of his vehicle. According to the police report, the vehicle flipped six times and Ravizza claimed he reached speeds of 150 mph. When a nurse asked Ravizza what happened, he commented about “wanting to have fun” without elaborating.
The April incident
The weekend’s violent events were not Ravizza’s first encounter with police. On April 14, West Tisbury police officers responded to an address on State Road around 2:40 a.m. for a report of a domestic assault and battery. According to a police report filed in Edgartown District Court, a man named Jason Ravizza told officers that his son, Jared, “just had a mental meltdown and attacked him.”
Officers spoke to Jared Ravizza inside. He appeared “visibly intoxicated” and refused to share his story with police. He approached officers “aggressively” and yelled “Handcuff me!” Police decided to take him into custody in the interest of his own safety.
“Mr. Ravizza began talking to us about nonsensical things such as the Deep State and claimed that his family helped start the country with John Adam (sic) but his father did not love him and his father wanted him dead,” police wrote in their report. “He also incorporated groups such as the Masons into his speeches. Mr. Ravizza began yelling that he hoped his father would die and began foaming at the mouth as he spoke.”
Jared Ravizza was brought to Martha’s Vineyard Hospital for a mental health evaluation. Jason Ravizza told police his son had gotten violent. Police observed fresh scratches on his face and thumb. According to the report, Jason Ravizza showed officers inside. He documented overturned furniture, documents scattered on the floor, broken doors and damage to walls.
According to the report, Jared Ravizza was examined by a mental health professional at the hospital and did not meet their standards for involuntary detention under a law called Section 12. He was discharged from the hospital and then officially arrested for assault and destruction of property. He was brought to the local jail and booked in the usual manner. The case was directed to pretrial diversion, and a session was scheduled for November.
