The first photos of convicted founder of bankrupt FTX exchange Sam Bankman-Fried in New York’s Metropolitan Detention Center have surfaced online from crypto influencer Tiffany Fong.

In the photo, the disgraced FTX founder was bearded while standing with five other prisoners, including a man named Ji Lock, whom Fong described as his “new prisoner friend”. The photo was reportedly taken on December 17, 2023.
Meanwhile, after several crypto community members pointed out that the disgraced founder has lost weight, Fong insisted that:
“(SBF) has apparently lost some weight, and I heard he’s not bathing as much. He’s not as clean as he used to be, but he’s clearly going through a lot right now.”
SBF has been held at the Metropolitan Detention Center since August 2023 after being remanded by Judge Lewis Kaplan on suspicion of attempting to influence witnesses.
