When asked about his emotions after the race, Hamilton said: “I can’t stop crying! Since 2021 I’ve been getting up every day, trying to fight, training, focusing on my job and working as hard as I can with this amazing team.
“This is my last race at the British Grand Prix with this team (before moving to Ferrari), so I wanted to win this for them, because I love them, I appreciate them so much, I appreciate all the hard work they have done over the years.

“I will always be grateful to everyone in this team, everyone at Mercedes, all our partners and otherwise to all our incredible fans… I could see you lap after lap as I went around, and there is no greater feeling than being here at the front.”
When asked how Hamilton put a “brave face” amid his win drought, the seven-time world champion explained the journey between his 103rd and 104th victories.
“I think the important thing is how you move forward, and you have to keep digging deep even when you feel like you’re at the lowest point.
