Anne Heche's son, Homer Laffoon, has revealed money troubles following his mother's death in 2022.
The 22-year-old claims his late mother's estate cannot pay her outstanding debts, meaning it cannot be closed until the balance is paid.
The 53-year-old “Another World” actress died after a fatal car accident on August 5, 2022 in Los Angeles, California. After remaining in a coma, the state declared him legally dead a week later.
In court documents obtained by ET, Heche's son, who serves as the administrator of his late mother's estate, said the estate is “not in a position to be closed right now” because he cannot pay his pending fees. .
Laffoon claims Heche's estate includes “modest bank accounts, royalty payments and other residual income from pre-death projects,” court documents show.
Seven claims have been made by creditors on the property, three of which are seeking $2 million.
One of the claims was filed by a couple who owned the home that Heche crashed into during the fatal crash, while the other claim was filed by a woman who was renting the property at the time. .
Heche's ex Thomas Jane is also among the creditors, according to the documents, who are seeking $149,106.04.
With the sale of the property approaching, Laffoon said he is “actively engaged in efforts to negotiate a fair settlement of the claims against the property.”
He said the estate is struggling to pay off its growing debts, with creditor claims totaling $6 million.
Laffoon said sales of her mother's posthumous memoir, “Call Me Anne,” were “not strong” — and made less than $25,000 in profit.
Still, Laffoon said he is “cautiously optimistic that all creditor claims can be resolved fairly and without litigation.”
The Post has contacted Laffoon's attorney for comment.
It comes as the home into which Heche's vehicle crashed has been restored and re-listed this week.
Located in the Mar Vista neighborhood in Los Angeles, the property is for sale for $1.35 million.
The home, which has three bedrooms and three bathrooms, has been completely restored two years after the fatal accident.
