San Jose, Calif. , A San Jose man returned home with just a little money in his pocket after failing to rob two banks in May. He has now been arrested.
Police allege that Keet Wu walked into a bank, where he approached the teller with a handwritten note demanding money. The teller refused to give Wu any money and he left the bank. Two days later, Wu tried to rob a different bank again; this time he told the teller the note contained a gun.
The teller also refused to give Wu money and left the scene before police arrived.
Keat Vu, of San Jose, is accused of attempting to rob at least two banks in San Jose.
The attempts happened at banks in the 1700 block of Story Road on May 14 shortly before 5 p.m., and in the 1100 block of South King Road on May 16 at 1:10 a.m., police said.
An investigation by SJPD’s Robbery Unit identified Wu as a suspect and he was arrested at his home on June 19. Wu was booked into the Santa Clara County Mail Jail for attempted armed robbery.
