Getting co-signatures from both Ridley Scott and James Cameron, the directors who helmed the original film Foreigner Taking the franchise to iconic levels, director Fede Alvarez has released the full trailer for Alien: RomulusThere has been heightened excitement surrounding the theatrical release in August, as the film was initially set to be released exclusively on Hulu as a streaming release – however, the film’s prospects and its potential prompted the studio to reconsider their approach.
For Alvarez, whose resume includes reimagining the 2013 Evil Dead franchise and his 2016 masterclass, don’t breatheThe eighth film in the Aliens franchise is said to be a return to the heyday of the sci-fi horror/thriller – with scenes that are not for the faint of heart and terrifying visuals that continue to haunt you long after the film’s final credits.
Film stars Cailee Spaeny, Isabella MercedAn adaptation of the film by David Jonson, Archie Renaux, Spike Fern and Aileen Wu that focuses on a group of young space explorers who encounter the Xenomorph on a deserted spaceship. Needless to say, the body count mounts as the Xenomorphs eventually overpower the crew.
In terms of the film’s homage to the franchise’s original installments, Alvarez made sure the latest part of the saga not only drew inspiration from the franchise’s original chapters, but also worked the story into a narrative continuity. While plot details are scant, the film is said to exist on a narrative timeline between the first and second films.
