Starring Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo as Glinda the Good Witch and Elphaba, respectively, the film follows the events before “The Wizard of Oz”. The trailer features songs sung by Grande and Erivo, which were featured in the 2003 Broadway musical. The musical was based on the novel “Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West” by Gregory Maguire, which was released in 1995. Maguire’s novel was based on the 1939 film “The Wizard of Oz”. The film also stars Michelle Yeoh, Jonathan Bailey, Ethan Slater, Bowen Yang and Jeff Goldblum as magicians. “Wicked” will be released in theaters on November 27. 2024.
