Hilary Duff and husband Matthew Koma welcomed the newest member of their family last week: baby Townes Meadow Bear.
The former Disney Channel actor and “How I Met Your Father” star announced the arrival of his fourth child — his third with Koma — with an Instagram post shared Tuesday. Duff posted photos of giving birth in water at home. The black-and-white images show the “Lizzie McGuire” star and her husband embracing their newborn.
“Now we know why he made us wait so long,” Duff captioned her photos. “She was making those cheeks look perfect!”
Duff said her daughter was born on May 3, five months after she revealed in a December holiday card that she was expecting another child. The Christmas card also teased the newborn’s name, writing: “Tuck in Buttercup, we’re adding another one to this crazy group.”
The “Younger” actor married musician Koma, 36, in 2019. The couple have daughters Banks Violet, 5, and Mae James, 3. Duff is also the mother of 12-year-old son Luca, whom she shares with her ex-husband. and former hockey star Mike Comrie.
In the caption of her Instagram post, Duff, 36, wrote of her newborn how she’s been “dreaming of holding you in my arms” for months. Since her daughter’s arrival on Friday, Duff said, “The last 5 days of knowing you, staring at you, and smelling you have been pure moments of magic.”
“We all love you just the way you are with the beauty you are here,” he said.
Koma described Duff as a “literal warrior goddess of a wife” in her Instagram post on Tuesday, which also shared photos of the emotional home-birth. He described his “happy, healthy, fat” newborn daughter and joked that she “doesn’t look like anyone else in our genetic pool.”
Koma said, “If anyone knows the whereabouts of @hilaryduff approximately 9 months ago, please get in touch for a cash reward.”
