The teaser trailer for “Mufasa: The Lion King” was released on Monday, and many are just as exciting as who is in it.
The 2019 photorealistic-animated prequel to the 1994 hit film “The Lion King” brings back many of the stars of the original remake directed by Jon Favreau, including John Kani as Rafiki, Seth Rogen as Pumbaa, Billy Eichner as Timon , Donald included. Glover as Simba and Beyoncé Knowles-Carter as Nala.
Another member of the Carter family also stars in the new film as Beyoncé’s 12-year-old daughter, Blue Ivy Carter, who voices Kiara, the daughter of King Simba and Queen Nala.
The trailer starts with Rafiki’s voiceover.
“This story begins on the other side of the light, far away from the mountains and shadows,” the voiceover says. “A lion was born without a drop of nobility in his blood. A lion that will change our lives forever.”
The audience then meets a young Mufasa, who was portrayed as an adult and voiced by James Earl Jones in the original animated film.
The teaser caption reads, “‘Mufasa: The Lion King’ features Rafiki narrating the tale of Mufasa to Simba and Nala’s daughter, young lion cub Kiara, with Timon and Pumbaa delivering their signature schtick.” Have given.
The caption continues, “The story, told in flashback, introduces Mufasa as an orphan cub who is lost and alone, until he meets a sympathetic lion named Taka – who is of royal lineage. Is the heir.” “A chance encounter sets in motion an elaborate journey of an extraordinary group of misfits seeking their destiny – their bonds will be tested as they work together to escape a dangerous and deadly enemy.”
The new film is directed by Barry Jenkins and stars Kelvin Harrison Jr. as Taka, Thandiwe Newton as Taka’s mother Ashe, Anika Noni Rose as Mufasa’s mother, Afia and Keith David as Mufasa’s father Masego.
The film will be released in theaters on December 20.
