Prince Harry will return to London in May after King Charles III announced he would be resuming his royal duties amid his cancer diagnosis, Page Six can confirm.
According to the BBC, the Duke of Sussex will stay in London to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games on May 8.
According to the outlet, Harry – who founded the annual multi-sport event – is scheduled to attend a “service of thanksgiving” and give a reading with Damian Lewis at London’s St Paul’s Cathedral.
A spokesperson told the outlet that the tenth anniversary celebration will celebrate “a decade of changing lives and saving lives through sports.”
It is unclear whether Harry’s wife Meghan Markle will stand by his side or whether he will attend alone.
The spokesperson also did not clarify whether Harry, 39, would spend any time with his father or brother Prince William in his first visit to the United Kingdom since flying to see his father following the king’s cancer diagnosis in February.
Harry and Markle, 42, have visited Harry’s former homeland only a few times since leaving his royal duties in 2020.
After London, both Harry and Meghan will head to Nigeria as guests of the Chief of Defense Staff, Page Six can confirm.
Meghan and Harry will reportedly meet with various service members and “participate in a variety of cultural activities,” according to People.
Similar to his London trip, the Nigerian trip will also focus on the Invictus Games and the country’s involvement last year.
“The visit is to reinforce Nigeria’s strong hold on the Games and the possibility of hosting the event in subsequent years,” the Acting Director of Defense Information said in a statement.
The country holds a special place in Harry and Markle’s hearts, as she revealed in 2022 that she was 43 percent Nigerian.
“Now, I’m not saying we play favorites in our house, but since my wife found out she is of Nigerian descent, it’s going to be a little more competitive this year,” he said last year. Said in sports.
Harry last visited London to check on King Charles, 75, after the king revealed he was diagnosed with an undisclosed type of cancer in February.

On Friday, Buckingham Palace announced the monarch would return to public duties alongside his wife, Queen Camilla, amid the ongoing battle.
“To help mark this milestone, the King and Queen will next Tuesday pay a joint visit to a cancer treatment centre, where they will meet medical experts and patients. “This visit will be the first of many external activities undertaken by Her Majesty in the coming weeks,” he shared in a statement.
Meanwhile, Prince William’s wife Kate Middleton announced last month that she has been diagnosed with cancer and is preparing to begin preventive chemotherapy.
“In January, I had major abdominal surgery in London and at the time, it was thought that my condition was non-cancerous. The surgery was successful. However, tests after the operation found cancer to be present,” she said in a video.
