The Switzerland-wide cycling campaign, Bike to Work, is back for its 2024 edition
Join this year’s Bike to Work campaign, which encourages workers in companies across Switzerland to travel by bicycle as often as possible during the months of May and June.
Participating is easy: First, create a team of four people, give your team a name, and register it on the Bike to Work website. No team? No problem: you can also request to join an incomplete team.
There are no registration fees or minimum distance requirements, and part of your journey can be made by public transport. Non-cyclists are not left out: one team member is allowed to travel on foot, skateboard or any other means of non-motorized transportation.
This year, CERN’s participation in the Bike to Work Challenge takes on a new dimension. We will participate with more than 40 other local entities, including the Canton of Geneva and municipalities in Geneva, autonomous public establishments and other international organisations.
This means thousands of us will bike to work, sending a strong and positive message in favor of active mobility, physical activity and good health in Geneva. The “big winners” will be rewarded with a special prize offered by the Canton of Geneva.
You can find more detailed information about the general program and our own “Bike to CERN” initiative, which runs all year round, on the Bike to Work and Bike to CERN webpages.
Safety first: Don’t forget to check the safety rules and road safety pages for cycling and complete the online course Road Traffic – Bike Riding before you sit down.
May the sun shine and the roads remain safe for you all!
