NASHVILLE, Tennessee (WSMV) – Country music star Morgan Wallen spent Sunday night in jail after allegedly throwing a chair over a Broadway bar.
According to an arrest affidavit, Wallen, 30, was on the rooftop of the Chief Bar around 10:45 Sunday night when witnesses saw him pick up a chair, throw it on the roof and laugh about it. The bar’s rooftop is six floors above Broadway.
According to the affidavit, two officers from the Metro Nashville Police Department were down on Broadway and said the chair fell three feet away from them. The affidavit said officers spoke with bar employees and witnesses and reviewed security footage, which confirmed Wallen’s alleged actions.
Wallen was arrested after 12:30 a.m. and booked. He has been charged with three counts of reckless endangerment, a felony, and one count of disorderly conduct, which is a misdemeanor. He posted $15,250 bond and was released from the Davidson County Jail at approximately 3:30 p.m.
Wallen’s attorney Warrick Robinson released the following statement regarding the country star’s arrest:
“At 10:53 pm Sunday evening Morgan Wallen was arrested in downtown Nashville for reckless endangerment and disorderly conduct. He is fully cooperating with the authorities.”
Chief Bar is owned by fellow country music star Eric Church and celebrated its grand opening over the weekend.
Wallen is scheduled to appear in court on May 3, the second day of the country star’s three-day performance scheduled at Nissan Stadium.
