According to UCCS Police, UCCS will remain closed for the weekend, Saturday and Sunday, February 17-18.

The Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) gave a brief update on the death investigation at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS) just before 11:30 a.m. on Friday, February 16, saying CSPD’s Homicide Unit has taken over the investigation. Have taken.
According to CSPD, UCCS police responded to a dorm room just after 6:05 a.m. Friday and found two people dead, each with at least one gunshot wound. “We are currently in the process of notifying family members or loved ones of the deceased individuals,” said CSPD Public Relations Manager Ira Cronin.
Cronin said CSPD is investigating this as an isolated incident and does not believe there is any threat to the community.
“Although the coroner will make an official determination of the cause and manner of death, these deaths are being investigated as a homicide and an active investigation will continue,” CSPD wrote.

The Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) tells FOX21 News that a death investigation is underway at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS). CSPD wants the public to know that this is not an active shooter situation.
CSPD said the campus is in a partial shelter-in-place during the police investigation and UCCS will be closed on Friday, Feb. 16. According to police, there is no threat to the public.

The University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS) campus was placed on lockdown due to a report of shots fired early Friday morning, February 16, the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) said.
According to CSPD, police received a report of shots fired at UCCS around 6:15 a.m. Friday and officers were on scene.
UCCS Public Safety shared on social media That the campus is on lockdown and students are being asked to close internal doors, turn off lights, move out of sight, not open doors and maintain silence.
