2. Speed, speed and more speed
Two things immediately stand out when looking at the 49ers defense. One, his ability to fire the ball out front, and two, his overall team speed, especially at the linebacker position.
Fred Warner and Dre Greenlaw may be the best linebacker duo in the NFL. His ability to play sideline to sideline in the run game and cover is equally good.
“You could argue that these two are on par with two of the great linebackers (Patrick Queen and Roquan Smith) from Baltimore. In my opinion, they’re the best in football,” Johnson said this week. “Normally, what we try to do when there’s a crime is we try to throw some eye candy in there and try to draw them out of the killer, but I think these guys Under the scheme, have played so much football together, that you can see them diagnose and read their keys very well. They are very intuitive football players.”
The 49ers have a fast, aggressive style defense and in the backend Johnson has a group that is referred to as ‘feudal’. Detroit’s offense needs to start fast and counter the 49ers’ aggression on defense with game speed and execution.
