Team Tamika is listed at +200, Team Jalen at +200 and Team Detlef at +750. 2024 rising stars format
This is the third consecutive year in which the Rising Stars event will focus on a three-game tournament between four teams, with each team playing seven players. NBA G League players will be joined by rookies and sophomores, and all three games of the tournament will be played on final goal score rather than a specific period. The first two games will be played to 40, while the final will be played to 25 to determine the champion of the event. See which team to support on SportsLine.
Top 2024 Rising Stars Predictions
Despite the attractive odds, Barner is not supporting Team Detlef. Cohesion can be an advantage for this team, as these players have been on the field together throughout the season in practice and game settings. Additionally, Team Detlef has three potential first-round picks in the 2024 NBA Draft. Tyler Smith is averaging 13.6 points and 4.9 rebounds per game, while shooting 39.2% from 3-point range, and he could go in the lottery by June. Ron Holland and Matas Buzelis are widely projected as top-10 selections, with Holland putting up 19.5 points and 6.7 rebounds per game. Bouzelis adds versatility and size, and he is averaging 13.0 points and 6.2 rebounds per game for the G League Ignite in 2023-24.
However, the other three teams consist of either NBA rookies and/or sophomores. This puts Team Detlef at an inherent disadvantage and explains why this side is quite the underdog in the betting. Five of Team Detlef’s seven players are very young and hail from the G League Ignite program, Ignite is averaging 18.3 turnovers per game and shooting just 34.1% from 3-point distance this season. Barner believes that this will be very difficult to overcome and that he is not making any impact on the underprivileged in this place. See more predictions at SportsLine.
